Michael has been a leader in informatics, telehealth, telemedicine and remote patient monitoring for over nine years. In 2011 he led the implementation of Epic electronic health records (EHR) at Mosaic Medical funded by a grant from Meyer Memorial Trust. He has designed and supported the appropriate utilization of shared electronic health records that contain mental health and substance abuse information. In clinical informatics, he is leading regional EHR efficiency initiatives for improved population health and referrals management, clinical team productivity, and patient access. Many of these initiatives recognize the efficiencies gained through sharing information via health information exchanges including emergency room, social determinants of health, and behavioral health information.
Michael received his BA in Biology and Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University, his Masters Degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of New Mexico and a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of New Mexico. He currently resides in Bend, OR with his wife and two daughters.
